Why This Recipe Works

  • Easy to make. This recipe is ready in under 40 minutes.
  • Only uses 3 ingredients. Broccoli, olive oil, salt.
  • Delicious way to get vegetables on your plate. When the broccoli roasts in the oven, the edges crisp up and the stalk takes on a natural sweetness. What you end up with satisfies cravings for sweet and roasty foods.
  • Versatile dish. Roasted broccoli is one of those foods that can go with any main. From cheesy dishes to rich meat dishes, sheet pan broccoli is a perfect side dish.
  • Low maintenance equipment requirements. If you are reading this blog entry then you probably have a sheet pan by now. The only equipment you need to make this recipe is a sheet pan lined with aluminum foil. When you are done, toss the aluminum foil into the recycling bin, give the sheet pan a rinse, cleanup is done!
  • Super healthy. Broccoli is a superfood that contains tons of Vitamin K, Vitamin C, chromium, and folate. There is so much flavor in oven roasted broccoli that there are really no unhealthy ingredients that need to be added to this recipe.

3 Ingredient Recipe

Broccoli - we used frozen broccoli florets for this recipe. This way we did not have to worry too much about the kashrut issues in cleaning it. You can also use stems but you will not get the same crispy edges that we love so much.

Olive oil - this is what will aid the broccoli in developing those perfectly crisp edges. The olive oil almost "fries" the edges and bottoms which is where the roasty flavor comes from.

Salt - to taste.
