Hamantaschen are typically eaten on the Jewish holiday of Purim. The unique triangle shaped Jewish cookie is said to resemble Haman's ear (Haman is the villain in the Purim story). Just like the Chocolate Cheesecake Hamantaschen, this recipe for Chocolate Fudge Brownie Hamantaschen will satisfy even the most hard core chocoholic in your family.

How to make the Chocolate Fudge Brownie Cake Mix Hack step by step
We told you this recipe was easy, now is the proof. You can make this recipe using only 3 east steps:
Step 1 - Mix the batter
Pour the brownie mix into a large bowl and add the flour, egg, water and oil.
Mix until the ingredients are fully incorporated any you have a stiff batter.
Step 2 - Prepare the Hamantaschen for baking
Using a rolling pin, roll the Chocolate Fudge Brownie Hamantaschen dough flat onto a floured surface. You are looking to get it to about ¼ inch thick.
Using a cookie cutter or drinking glass, cut dough circles and place them onto a 9x13 baking sheet or cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Knead the dough scraps back into a dough ball, roll it flat, and cut again. Repeat this until all of the dough has been used.
Now go to the dough circles and place 1 teaspoon of filling into the middle of each. For this recipe we used peanut butter and chocolate chips but if you want something different, check out our suggestions for fillings.
Pinch the sides of the circles to form the traditional three corners. You don't have to worry too much about it being difficult to pinch the ends closed since the brownie batter will stick together naturally but you could always use a few drops of water if the sides need a little assistance staying closed.
Step 3 - Bake
Bake at 375ºF for 8-10 minutes. Cool to room temperature before eating.
Chocolate Fudge Brownie Hamantaschen Filling Suggestions
- Peanut butter and/or chocolate chips- nothing goes better with brownies than peanut butter and more chocolate
- Nutella- for a creamy chocolatey nutty filling
- Black Forest Chocolate Fudge Brownie Hamantaschen Hack - use cherry jam or preserves.
- Raspberry or strawberry jelly or jam.
- Mashed banana - the natural sugars in the banana caramelize nicely during baking.
- Cheesecake filling - the best recipe for this is the cheesecake filling from our Chocolate Cheesecake Hamantaschen recipe.
- Almond butter or sunflower butter - if you are allergic to peanut butter or just don't like it these are good substitutes.
Equipment
This is almost a "one pan recipe" like our 3 Ingredient Cherry Dump Cake but you will also need a mixing bowl. So I guess it is a two pan/pot recipe. You will also need a rolling pin and circle cookie cutter or get creative in rolling and cutting substitutions.
Hamantaschen Storage
Storage of Hamantaschen could not be easier:
- Seal them in an airtight plastic bag or wrap them in plastic wrap once cool.
- Leave on the counter for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
- Freeze for up to 6 months. Let thaw for 30 minutes before eating.
Top tip
If you have leftover dough after cutting all of the dough circles, roll it up into golf ball sized balls and bake it along with the regular Hamantaschen. Now you will have dense, fudgy and chewy brownie balls to eat!
