Oven Baked Chuck Roast

Equipment

  • Large baking dish you can also use a CrockPot, slow cooker or Dutch oven

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs chuck roast
  • 1 onion
  • 3 potatoes peeled or unpeeled
  • 3 carrots sliced
  • 12 oz beer lager
  • 2 tablespoon pot roast seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300ºF
  • Slice the potatoes and onion into quarters
  • Season the chuck roast with pot roast seasoning on both sides
  • Pour the beer into the baking dish with the chuck roast and veggies
  • Cover and bake for 3 hours at 300ºF

Notes

Storage instructions

The nice thing about a one pot oven roasted recipe is that when you are done you can just cover it and refrigerate in the same dish you used to make it. For a CrockPot, once the roast has cooled, just put the lid on the top. Store in the refrigerator for 4-5 days covered.
You can even make this dish in advance and freeze it for up to 6 months.
