Slice the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise and rub each half with olive oil. Sprinkle half of the salt and pepper on each half.
Bake for 50 minutes uncovered.
Remove from the oven and run a fork across each squash half until all of the insides are turned into "noodles." Mix half of the pasta sauce into each squash shell and top with cheese.
Bake for another 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
Notes
Serving suggestions
Add meat instead of cheese. Prior to adding the cheese, this recipe is pareve. This means that you can add our Spaghetti Bolognese sauce instead of marinara sauce.
Add parmesan. Liberally sprinkle parmesan cheese over the top before the final 5 minute bake.
Add veggies. After you make the "noodles," add sauted green pepper, mushrooms, red pepper, and zucchini. Then add the sauce and cheese.
Try different cheeses. Just like spaghetti noodles, spaghetti squash takes on the flavor of what you put on it. Try using cheddar, gouda, or feta cheese for a change.
A great side dish or a main dish. Easy Oven Roasted Spaghetti Squash can be a main dish by itself or you can serve it alongside another main dish like our Apricot Glazed Salmon.
